Maryam Mousavi
PhD student

Maryam Mousavi, from Shiraz, Iran, received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from Azad University with a thesis on the Therapeutic potential of hair follicle-derived stem cells in a rat model of ischemic stroke.
Afterwards, she worked as a research assistant at the Clinical Neurology and Stem Cell Technology Research Centers of Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, where she participated in several research projects related to stroke and cell therapy.

She joined the Hirt Lab in June 2023 as a PhD student where she will study the Modulation of brain barrier functions by microbiota-derived factors in cerebral ischemia.
