Talayeh Arabi Zanjani
PhD student

Talayeh was born in Teheran, Iran. After completing her Bachelor's degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology
in Teheran, Talayeh moved to Bern, Switzerland to pursue a Master's degree in Molecular Life Sciences. During her master thesis,
she focused on the fascinating field of intrinsically photosensitive retinal ganglion cells (ipRGCs) under the guidance of Dr. Ludovic Mure and Prof. Sonja Kleinlogel.
Her work involved developing a pipeline to stain, count, and morphologically characterize ipRGCs, not only in various mouse models but also in human and bovine retinas.
She started her PhD at UNIL in April 2023 in the Lab of Prof. Jean-Yves Chatton under his supervision.
She is going to study the metabolic interactions between neurons and astrocytes in health and Alzheimer's disease.
