Calcium imaging in freely-moving rodents

Recent technological advances in behavioral neurosciences are pushing the field towards the domain of micro-cognition: brief events (i.e. micro-dynamics) observed both at the neural and behavioral level.

Researchers at the DNF visualize calcium dynamics in freely moving subjects to understand how large ensemble of cells cooperate (or compete) to generate complex behaviors in normal and pathological conditions.

The platform is a central hub for several groups in the department using the Inscopix system, we have:
[1] A workstation dedicated to data processing
[2] A practical mobile solution for deploying the system in many different behavioral tasks.
[3] Dedicated software for time-locking neural and behavioral events
