Physician, Head of the of the immunology and allergy Service (IAL) with a Full Professor title

within the Department of Medicine (DM) and Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology (DMLP)

The immunology and allergy Service offers expertise in the various fields of clinical immunology and laboratory diagnostics: autoimmunity, allergology, immunotoxicity, systemic inflammatory diseases, transplant immunology, serodiagnosis of autoimmune diseases, allergic disorders, viral hepatitis and HIV, determination of residual levels of biological drugs, characterization of cellular subpopulations, characterization and quantification of cytokines of the inflammatory response, and characterization of immunodeficiencies. High-level care of immunological diseases, teaching, training and clinical research are the essential missions of the Department. The position of Head of Service is shared (50%/50%) between the DM and the DMLP.

Main missions:

  1. Directs, organizes and manages the development of all activities of a university immunology and allergy service.
  2. Ensure and reinforce the expertise and quality of the service's clinical missions, while developing multidisciplinary and inter-institutional collaborations and synergies in line with the CHUV's strategic plan and the challenges facing the Department of Medicine.
  3. Federate, conduct and develop high-level clinical and academic research, financed by expert external funding.
  4. Ensure and conduct pre-graduate (according to FBM requirements), post-graduate (ISFM cat. A1 training center) and continuing training missions.
  5. Guarantee a high level of medical and scientific talents, consolidate our clinical and academic reputation both internally and externally, and collaborate with hospitals affiliated to the “Fédération des Hôpitaux Vaudois (FHV)” and neighboring cantons.

Desired profile:

  • Federal medical diploma (or Mebeko recognition required), MD or MD-PhD.
  • ISFM specialist in immunology and allergy, with in-depth training in the various fields of immunology (or Mebeko recognition required).
  • Extensive clinical experience in immunology and allergology.
  • Recognized and certified managerial skills in leading and managing a large/multisite team and in-depth project management experience.
  • Professorial-level academic knowledge and expertise with a proven track record in pre- and post-graduate teaching.
  • Ability to set up clinical research programs supported by expert external funding.
  • Good knowledge of French (LM or C1 ideal, minimum B2 with ability to acquire it quickly).
