Claudia Kathe
Assistant Professor

Claudia received her Ph.D. degree in Neuroscience and Pharmacology from King’s College London, United Kingdom, under the supervision of Prof. Lawrence Moon and Prof. Stephen McMahon. During this time, she developed gene therapies to improve mobility after corticospinal tract injury. For her post-doctoral training, she moved to the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne, to join the laboratory of Prof. Grégoire Courtine. Here, she developed tools to identify and study the different spinal neuron population, which led to the identification of a population of spinal neurons that are required for the recovery of walking after spinal cord injury. Claudia was recently awarded with a Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) Starting Grant and started her lab at the DNF in April 2024.
