Tenure-track Assistant Professor towards Associate Professor 

within the CHUV precision medicine Unit

The Precision Medicine Unit was recently created within the CHUV Department of Laboratories to accelerate the integration of genomics into routine medical care. It seeks to recruit an outstanding physician scientist eager to combine clinical and research activities, who will develop a new consultation as well as a research program in personalized health.


Main missions:

  • Set up and coordinate an outpatient clinic in personalized health
  • Develop an independent and competitive research program in precision medicine (e.g. genomics of complex diseases, cancer genomics, pharmacogenomics, population genetics, statistical genetics, multi-omics, genetic epidemiology, gene-environment interactions, etc.).
  • Contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in the field.


Required profile:

  • MD-PhD diploma (or MD with extensive research experience), holding a certification in medical genetics or a certification in internal medicine with demonstrated interest in genomics and personalized health.
  • Capacity to lead a research program that can attract external funding.
  • Willingness to combine clinical and research activities, with a strong emphasis on translational research.
  • Good knowledge of French (or willingness to acquire it).
