Deputy Physician with an Associate Professor title

in the field of diabetology

within the endocrinology and diabetology Service

Starting date: Summer 2025 or to be agreed

Place: Lausanne, Switzerland

Attached to the Department of Medicine, the Endocrinology, Diabetology and Metabolism Service (EDM) is tasked with providing an outstanding level of care and contributing to translational research projects in the fields of diabetes, endocrinology, obesity, lipids and nutrition. The selected candidate will work within the facilities of the Hôtel des Patients alongside a multidisciplinary team, including specialist nurses, dieticians, psychologists and podiatrists.

Main missions:

  • Responsible for ambulatory diabetology consultation at the Hôtel des Patients.
  • Responsible for hospital diabetology and transversal collaboration with the different Services of the CHUV.
  • Participate in continuous education and regional networks on diabetes management.
  • Collaborate with Swiss university diabetology centers.
  • Pursue your research line in the field of diabetology. For translational research projects, dedicated facilities and the necessary infrastructure are available at Bugnon 27.
  • Promote clinical and research excellence in the field of diabetology.
  • Contribute to the visibility of the Service both nationally and internationally.

Desired profile:

  • Federal medical diploma (or equivalent MEBEKO-recognized title) MD or MD-PhD.
  • Specialist title in endocrinology and diabetology (FMH or MEBEKO-recognized title).
  • Management experience in the field of diabetology.
  • Experience in clinical or translational research in the field of diabetes.
  • Team spirit and ability to collaborate and build teams in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Preference will be given to a personality open to communication and cooperation, capable of stimulating young colleagues destined for a hospital-academic career.
  • Proficiency in French (level at least B2, C1 ideally) or ability to acquire it quickly.
