Manuel Mameli was born in Italy where he obtained his Master’s degree in Neuroscience. After an intense training in synaptic physiology with Prof. Fernando Valenzuela at the University of New Mexico, he obtained his PhD at the University of Geneva in the laboratory of Christian Lüscher where he studied the mesolimbic dopamine circuits. He then joined the Institut du Fer à Moulin, INSERM, headed by Jean-Antoine Girault as a Junior Group Leader. Manuel Mameli was appointed Associate Professor at the DNF and moved here with his lab in January 2017 .
