Cathy Gouelle joins the lab as a PhD student

Cathy obtained her BSc in Biology and her MSc in Neurosciences from the University of Rouen. During her MSc she worked on effects of octadecaneuropeptides on post-ischemic synaptic plasticity. Through the UNIL Summer Undergraduate Research (SUR) program, she joined the laboratory of Professor Dr. Luc Pellerin. There, she explored the modulating role of lactate and monocarboxylate transporters (MCTs) on synaptic activity, first as SUR student, and then as PhD student. She joined the Neukomm lab as PhD student to continue dissecting the modulatory function of MCTs at synapses in Drosophila.
