Hanna Lammertse
Visiting researcher

Hanna Lammertse obtained her BSc in Neuroscience from University College London and her MSc in Neurosciences from the Vrije Universiteit (VU) Amsterdam in the Netherlands. In the laboratory of Prof. Verhage at the VU, she investigates the role of synaptic vesicle release proteins in health and disease using iPSC technology as a PhD student. She is particularly interested in STXBP1/MUNC18-1 mutations leading to a severe neurodevelopmental disorder known as STXBP1 syndrome (www.stxbp1.cncr.nl).
She joined the Neukomm lab as a visiting scientist to identify modulators of MUNC18-1/Rop function by a high-throughput compound screen in Drosophila. This screen is a joint project between the Verhage and Neukomm labs and generously funded by the Million Dollar Bike Ride initiative (https://stxbp1.cncr.nl/stxbp1_news/2020/joint_cncr-swiss_high-throughput_stxbp1_screen_receives_funding).
