We are currently looking for a PhD student for our lab, starting March/April 2023 (or earliest convenience).
We are investigating the impact of metabolic neuron-glia interactions in Alzheimer’s disease, aging, and epilepsy. The project will focus on mitochondria in astrocytes and mitochondrial uncoupling; the successful candidate will work with novel optogenetic tools to achieve “on demand” control of mitochondrial activity in astrocytes to investigate astrocyte-neuron metabolic coupling and its contribution to aging, neurodegeneration, and epilepsy.
