Quentin Bourgeois-Jaarsma started biology in Dijon where he obtained his bachelor degree in Biology and Biochemistry in 2012. He then studied Neurosciences in Paris Descartes/Paris Diderot University during his Master. He then moved to the Netherlands and completed his PhD focused on the molecular mechanisms of presynaptic neurotransmitter release at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam. He has now joined the groups of Andrea Volterra as a Graduate Assistant and will work on the role of astrocytes in memory-related circuit operations in brain slices and in vivo using electrophysiological and opto/chemogenetic tools.
