Congratulations to our lab member Vittoria Mariano for winning the Young Researcher in Basic Sciences Award at FBM! Her groundbreaking work on the ASD risk gene CYFIP1 using the Drosophila melanogaster model has provided valuable insights into Autism Spectrum Disorders. Her studies have revealed the role of CYFIP1 in brain lipid homeostasis, sleep behavior, and mitochondrial metabolism affecting social behavior. Proud to had Vittoria in ou laboratory, where she explores behavior and molecular mechanisms in schizophrenia and autism fly models. Keep up the amazing work!
